1st Air Force Field Division

The 1st Air Force Field Division was a military association of the Wehrmacht during the Second World War . It was erected in November 1942 from excess air force personnel in the Königsberg area in East Prussia and was deployed on the German-Soviet front from November 1942 to April 1944 . After being trapped near Novgorod during the fighting in the area of Lake Ilmen in northern Russia and almost completely wiped out, the division was finally disbanded in April 1944.
