The 1st VC Hannover was a volleyball club in Hannover .

The 1st VC Hanover emerged in 1957 from the volleyball teams of the “ Hanover University of Education ”, which were the first German volleyball champions for both women and men . The men of the 1st VCH won the German championship title in 1960 and 1962. The women were even more successful under the direction of Theda Hoch : From 1958 to 1976 they were German champions 18 times, 16 times in a row. Well-known national players at 1. VC Hannover were Birgit Drechsel , Erika Heucke , Marianne Lepa , Ingrid Lorenz , Regina Pütz , Traute Schaefer , Eliska Svitil, Uschi Westphal and Silvia Meiertöns . In the late 1970s, the dominance of 1. VC Hannover in German women's volleyball was broken by USC Münster and 1. VC Schwerte .

In 1979 the association was dissolved due to financial problems.
