100 ° and Rising is the fifth studio album by British acid jazz band Incognito . It was released on January 1, 1995 on the Talkin 'Loud label and was produced by band leader Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick together with Richard Bull.

General

The album was recorded in Studio 2 at Abbey Road Studios in London . The title of the album is actually 100 ° and Rising . Since the degree symbol is not available on English keyboards, it is also often titled with 100 Degrees and Rising or simply 100 and Rising . In German the title means “100 degrees and rising”.

The American jazz singer Maysa Leak , who was heard on the previous albums the band was at 100 ° and Rising not represented as they worked on their solo careers. She was represented on the album by singer Pamela Anderson . However, Leak returned to the band's line-up for the next studio album, Beneath the Surface .

Cover

Bandleader Bluey Maunick can be seen on the cover of the album. He is dressed completely in black and is sitting on an armchair against a white background. To Maunick's right stands a woman wearing a dark blue dress and leaning on the armrest of the chair. Another woman can be seen on the left. She stands slightly behind the armchair and leans on the backrest. She is wearing a dark leather jacket. While Maunick's gaze is directed straight ahead into the camera, the two women look at Bluey.
The band's name is printed in lower case on the right side of the cover. Below is the title of the album, where 100 ° is larger than the rest and also has a darker color.
