12, place du Marché (Arpajon)
House number 12 on Place du Marché in Arpajon , a French commune in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region , was built at the end of the 15th century. The house has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1966 .
The residential building was probably built in the same place shortly after the market hall was built. The shops on the ground floor are more recent. The upper floor with four windows and the mansard roof , which is covered with flat tiles, date from the time it was built. The entrance to the courtyard is framed by mighty stone blocks.
In the courtyard, a round tower with a spiral staircase gives access to the outbuildings.
