Karl Lütge (writer)

Karl Lütge (born December 21, 1895 in Nordhausen am Harz , † July 27, 1965 in Karlsruhe ) was a German journalist and writer . He also wrote under the pseudonym Karl Friedrich Luitpold .

Life

Karl Lütge was born on December 21, 1895 as the son of a shoe manufacturer in Nordhausen am Harz. Here he completed a commercial apprenticeship as well as in Quedlinburg and later studied in Leipzig . His first novel "The Castle in the Harz" was published in 1916 in Berlin. From 1920 to 1924 he was an editor at the magazine publisher Bernhard Meyer in Leipzig. He later became a freelance writer and lived in Leipzig and Nordhausen, and from 1933 in Berlin. In 1922 his play "The Minute King of Dalmatia" appeared.

In 1926 he brought out the home book "Harz und Kyffhäuser" together with Fritz Brather .

Karl Lütge traveled to several countries and after 1945 became a lecturer at the adult education center in Neustadt an der Orla . He lived in Bad Wiessee am Tegernsee, most recently in Karlsruhe.
