The 1822direkt company of Frankfurter Sparkasse mbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Frankfurter Sparkasse in the legal form of a limited liability company with headquarters in Frankfurt am Main .

The 1822direkt is not itself a credit institute, but acts as a sales company for the direct banking products of the Frankfurter Sparkasse. As a sales company, 1822direkt is not included in the list of approved credit institutions of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority , but is nevertheless supervised by it.
history
1822direkt was founded on September 28, 1996 as a subsidiary of Frankfurter Sparkasse. The name is derived from the year the Sparkasse was founded in 1822. Since the takeover of Frankfurter Sparkasse by Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen in August 2005, 1822direkt has also been part of the Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen group .
Products
As the sales company of Frankfurter Sparkasse, it offers banking products for private customers via the Internet and telephone.
In addition to overnight money, current and deposit accounts, the 1822direkt product portfolio also includes fixed-term deposits and various securities investments. In addition, the 1822direkt offers installment loans, mortgage lending and individual insurance offers for its customers. The product 1822mobile, which can only be used with mobile devices, has been available since October 2017.
As a sales and subsidiary of Frankfurter Sparkasse with a uniform account number system, their bank code 500 502 01 can also be used equally . This is also used to create the international bank account number (IBAN) .

Institute security
As a subsidiary of Frankfurter Sparkasse, the fourth largest savings bank in Germany, 1822direkt also belongs to the institute- securing liability association of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe .
