An ensemble of residential buildings is located at 19–30 St Vincent Crescent in the Scottish city ​​of Glasgow . In 1970 the building was included as an individual monument in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

history

The row of buildings was built between 1849 and 1857 on the site of the former stately home of Stobcross . The Scottish architect Alexander Kirkland is responsible for the design . In addition, gardens with a small lake were created, but these were built over until the 1930s.

The classicist row of buildings is located on St Vincent Crescent west of central Glasgow. It describes an arc that is interrupted by a deeper railway line. In the area of ​​the ground floor of the three-story building, the facades are rusticated . The entrance doors are accessible via short front stairs. They are designed with mullion windows , architraves and flanking Doric pilasters . The final crowns are part of the dividing window cornice . The windows on the first floor are simply crowned. A stone balustrade runs above the cornice .
