description

It is the corner house between Canal Street ( A741 ) and High Street ( A877 ) in the center of Renfrew. It was built for British Linen Bank in 1899 to a design by architects John More Dick Peddie and George Washington Browne . Today it is a branch of the Bank of Scotland . Stylistically, it is based on the architecture of the Renaissance .

The masonry of the three-story building is made of red sandstone . The entrance is on the edge of the building. It is made with dazzling pillars and a detailed crown. On the ground floor, windows are built into wide round arches that are decorated in a similar way. A two-story corner tower protrudes above the door and closes with a steep, octagonal helmet. A bay window emerges on the left, which closes with a segmental arch gable. A simple cornice runs around on corbels below the roof . The roofs are covered with green slate.
