24 hour Burgenland Extreme Tour

The 24-hour Burgenland Extreme Tour is a 120-kilometer ultra-marathon in Burgenland around Lake Neusiedl without a competitive nature. The tour can be done walking or running and takes place at the end of January. It was carried out for the first time in 2012 and is now the greatest extreme winter adventure in Europe. Start and finish are in the municipality of Oggau on Lake Neusiedl . The organizer is the “24 hours Burgenland” association (ZVR number 660434585), also based in Oggau.

On January 24th, 2020 the 9th edition of the 24-hour Burgenland Extreme Tour started with 7000 participants. In addition to Oggau with 120 kilometers and Apetlon with 60 kilometers, there is also a start in Hungary. The 80 km long “Memorial Trail” leads from Hegykö to Oggau. In Neusiedl am See , the “School of Walk” for schoolchildren is entering its third round with a large number of schools from Vienna and Lower Austria. Also at the start are older people who start together with children and young people as part of the “Golden Walker”
