In chemistry, nitrobenzene sulfonic acids (or sed) form a group of substances that are derived from both nitrobenzene and benzene sulfonic acid. The structure consists of a benzene ring with attached nitro (–NO 2 ) and sulfonic acid groups (–SO 2 OH) as substituents . Their different arrangement results in three constitutional isomers with the empirical formula C 6 H 5 NO 5 S. They are primarily to be regarded as nitro-substituted benzenesulfonic acids.
