30 Years of Playmobil - Discover the World was a traveling exhibition of the Historisches Museum der Pfalz in Speyer , which was shown at six locations from November 2003 to October 2007.

Exhibits

The exhibits of the 1600 m² exhibition were contributed by various sources. The large figures come from the Playmobil decoration department in Zirndorf , very old Playmobil items from the Playmobil company archive and the King's Lion Knight's Castle and the construction crane with scaffolding from Hal Far on Malta .

Among other things, an opera house, a circus from four generations and Napoleon's armies were shown. There were accompanying events, among other things, on pirates, Indians and knights or on the topics of fire brigade and police or dollhouses and dream castles.

Stations

The Magdeburg Horsemen from Playmobil
First station of the exhibition, about 1600 m². Due to the renovation of the museum, the exhibition could not be extended. The mouse production machine could be seen here for the first time. The exhibition was visited by more than 150,000 visitors.
"The Storming of the Knight's Castle" or "The Pirates' Sea Battle" took visitors into the world of Playmobil with scenes up to five square meters in size. The electrical center in Maximilianpark became a large playroom to try out and set up. A total of 82,000 visitors saw this exhibition in this station.
A total of 53,000 visitors in three exhibition months.
On the occasion of the exhibitions " Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation " and "30 Years of Playmobil - Discover the World", a Magdeburg rider was produced by Playmobil.

Follow-up exhibition

After the exhibition ended in October 2007, planning began in 2012 for the exhibition " 40 Years of Playmobil - An Adventure Journey Through Time ", which had an area of ​​2100 m² at its first station.
