description

The four-story building is on Virginia Street in the southeast of central Glasgow. It was created around 1817 and has a classicistic design. The east-facing front facade is ten axes wide. The two entrance portals are designed with Ionic pilasters and cornices . In the center, a passage with a wrought iron gate leads to the inner courtyard. On the outer axes there are further low-lying entrance doors. Two windows on the ground floor have meanwhile been expanded to become twin windows . On the first floor, the two middle windows were let into round-arched recesses, while the remaining windows are suspected of being simple cornices . A grooved band runs as the window cornice . In contrast to the exposed brickwork on the street side, the rear facade is plastered. The roof is covered with slate.
