The building was in 1896 as an administrative building of the North British Rubber Co. built. The regional Scottish architect Robert Thomson is responsible for the design .
Architecturally, the narrow seven-story building cannot be assigned to any style. The west-facing front facade along Buchanan Street is clad with blocks of red sandstone . Brick was used for the side and rear facades . A shop with flat shop windows is set up on the ground floor. Above it emerges a three-story, beveled opening with five elongated windows on each floor. It extends in a recess that closes semi-elliptically above the fourth floor . Sculptures in Ädikulä flank the arch. A curved balcony emerges above it. The semicircular window behind it is suspected to be semicircular protruding far . The facade closes with a stepped volute gable .
