The 60th Parallel Territorial Park is a provincial park in the south of the Canadian Northwest Territories . Unlike most of the other Canadian provinces, the provincial parks in the Northwest Territory are called Territorial Parks . It is the southernmost of the Territorial Parks and lies directly on the border with the province of Alberta . Only the Queen Elizabeth Territorial Park is similarly far south .
The park is located on the Hay River , about 80 kilometers southwest of Enterprise and about 190 kilometers north of High Level . The park is located directly on the Yellowknife Highway (Northwest Territories Highway 1). The park is only separated from Yellowknife Airport by the highway .
The park, located on the so-called Wood Buffalo Route , has only nine parking spaces for campers and tents and has simple sanitary facilities. The park also has a so-called day use area .
