The Yellowknife Airport ( IATA code : YZF , ICAO code : CYZF ) is located in Yellowknife , Northwest Territories , Canada .
It is part of the National Airport System and is operated by the Government of the Northwest Territories. Yellowknife Airport is the largest airport in the Canadian Territories and therefore also serves as a hub for several airlines such as Buffalo Airways , Canadian North and First Air . It is used for civil air traffic and as a base for the Canadian armed forces .
In 2008, the modernization of the airport terminal was completed, which doubled the capacity of the terminal.

Incidents
- On April 11, 1955, an Avro York C.1 of the Canadian Associated Airways ( aircraft registration number CF-HMZ ) had an accident while taking off with eight tons of cargo from Yellowknife Airport. The two pilots survived the accident and the aircraft was destroyed.
