Northwestern Air (officially Northwestern Air Lease Ltd. ) is a Canadian regional airline based in Fort Smith , which serves destinations in the Northwest Territories, Alberta and British Columbia.

history

The airline was founded in 1965 as a leasing company and began flight operations in 1968 after being transformed into an airline.

The company has been owned by the founding family without interruption since it was founded.

The company's large aircraft types (BAe Jetstream 31 / BAe Jetstream 32) are mainly used for scheduled services. The charter operation is mainly operated with the other, smaller aircraft of the company.
