The Central Mountain Air (CMA) is a Canadian airline based and home base in Smithers , Canada . It offers scheduled and charter flights to over 17 destinations in Canada. The CMA is privately owned and currently employs over 300 people.

history

The airline was founded in 1987 and began flight operations in the same year. With the order of the Raytheon Beech 1900D Airliner in 1997, CMA became a partner of Air Canada and took over several routes from Air BC .

Today only a few flights are operated for Air Canada, the airline now flies under its own code 9M.

In 2005 and 2006 the fleet was further expanded and since then charter flights have also been offered with the Dornier 328 .

Central Mountain Air is the sister company of Northern Thunderbird Air (NT Air), offering charter and cargo flights from Prince George, Smithers, Mackenzie, Vancouver and Calgary.
