Calm Air International Ltd is a Canadian regional airline based in Thompson, Manitoba . It operates a route network, as well as charter and cargo flights, in northern Manitoba and the Kivalliq region of Nuavut . The home base is at Thompson Airport .

history

The company was founded in 1960 by Arnold Morberg and his wife. In 1962, Calm Air received its charter license and began flight operations. Initially, charter flights were carried out in northern Saskatchewan . In 1976 she took over Transair's passenger service in Nunavut. In 1981, most of Lamb Air's passenger and cargo routes were taken over. In 1987 Canadian Airlines International took a 45% stake in Calm Air. In April 2009, Calm Air became a subsidiary of Exchange Income Corporation (EIC).

Since 2015, Calm Air has a code- sharing agreement with Canadian North and First Air .
