666 - Paranormal Prison is an American horror film directed by Duke Hitchcock aka David Chirchirillo. The film, the story of which is told in the form of a framework plot, was released on DVD on February 12, 2013.

action

The action takes place on June 16, 2012. An elite FBI troop is briefly assigned to search a forensic prison, the Woodborrow Prison , which has been vacant for many years . A team was sent into the building as early as the late 1990s, and none of them ever returned. A spirit is supposed to be up there. The operation is accompanied by Dr. Lynn Decker, FBI parapsychologist.

The first thing the agents do is to install mobile cameras at strategically important points in the building, and they also wear glasses themselves. Axel Hooper followed the search on several monitors from a pickup truck parked in the courtyard entrance. The first found object is an unconscious young woman in a holey fishing shirt. Dr. Decker has her locked in a cell, she thinks she is extremely dangerous.

As soon as the captured woman regains consciousness, Dr. Decker with the questioning and on the side sends a photo (taken with her cell phone camera) of Emma - that's her name - to the command center. During the further search of the partly dilapidated rooms, the cameras clearly capture paranormal phenomena. Then the group of four begins to decimate. One after the other dies after being haunted by terrible visions of death that project their greatest fears.

Dr. In the meantime, Decker receives feedback from the headquarters that the prisoner is Emma Lockhart, a girl who has been missing for 20 years. This confirms Decker's expectations. She shows team leader Bill Watts a file in which she has collected accounts of fabulous phenomena from the 20th century, all of which have to do with the number 616, be it within a date or in the form of the number of victims. Then the prisoner herself reports how it all began: On June 16, 1692 a woman named Emma was accused of being a witch and burned at the stake. Her human remains then disappeared without a trace. Since then, Emma's ghost has haunted the globe with vengefulness. She is retaliating locally for the mistreatment, torture and rape of deranged prison inmates. Decker strongly advises blowing up the building, including inmate Emma Lockhart and the ghost that resides in her.

But it doesn't come to that anymore. Emma's ghost can use supernatural powers to disable the detonator of the explosive device. Even the response force called for reinforcement overwhelms them in no time at all. In the end, she comes out to Watts as the devil. It is not clear whether Watts survived.

background

The film was shot in the Linda Vista Community Hospital in Los Angeles, which was closed in 1991, and in the neighboring city of Ventura .

criticism

“In 666 - PARANORMAL PRISON, the viewer experiences a new dimension of cinematic horror, because here the spirit is in the film, but is missing in the script. This is particularly noticeable in the trivially woven dialogues, which are mainly located deep below the belt and are constantly at the level of adolescent adolescents. "
