712th Infantry Division (Wehrmacht)
The 712th Infantry Division was a German infantry division during World War II . The division was set up in May 1941 and was stationed exclusively in France for a very long time . In the summer of 1944 she was involved in fighting against Western Allied troops in France. In January 1945 she was relocated to the Eastern Front and fought against the Red Army in the Battle of the Seelow Heights . A retreat to the south followed. The division was largely wiped out during the attempt to break out of the Halbe pocket on April 26, 1945.
