7Ray , real name Rene Probst , is an Austrian musician . He wrote several theme songs for Hollywood films.

Musical career

7Ray, born in Austria , began playing as a singer and guitarist in various bands at the age of twelve . With the band Badertempelhof he won several young talent competitions, including the Styrian band competition. This led to a recording deal with Ariola and the production of a single.

After studying jazz, he founded the band Tim Tim , which got a record deal with EMI. In the band he acted as a band leader, guitarist and producer. With the album Under The Sun , a total of four top ten positions could be achieved in the music charts , including the number 1 hit Underneath the Mango tree with gold status, known from the film James Bond is chasing Dr. No as a reggae version. Live performances at various festivals followed . As a result, he was awarded the title Official Ambassador of the School of Art of Bob Marley granted.

Solo career

At his own request 7Ray left the band Tim Tim in 1998. In 2002 he renamed himself "7Ray". From then on he worked with Robert Ponger . In the meantime, 7Ray performed as a solo artist in the Rat Pack style, accompanied by a jazz quartet and various big bands .

Artist name 7Ray

According to his own statement, his pseudonym stands for the seven spectral colors and the seven chakras , the main energy centers of humans. The seven stands for “seven basic human values”: love, joy, peace, freedom, respect, patience and self-confidence.

Somewhere in a Scarlet Sky

The first album was created in May 2009. Steve van Velvet was involved in many titles. 7Ray contributed two songs from the album for the soundtrack of the Hollywood film The Informers . In July 2013 the album Somewhere in a Scarlet Sky was released via the record company 7us media group .

Hollywood movie soundtracks

In 2010 7Ray wrote the title track Unthinkable for the thriller Unthinkable of the same name . The song was produced and recorded with Uwe Fahrenkrog-Peterson and Jean Beauvoir.

In 2012 the song Everyone knows it was released, produced and composed by Steve van Velvet. It is the theme song for the thriller Leashed .
