A + (born August 29, 1982 in Hempstead , Long Island , New York ; actually André Levins ) is an American rapper .
biography
Levin's career began in 1995 when he won a rap competition run by the Def Jam music label at the age of 12 . The event was Kedar Massenburg , manager of D'Angelo , + aware of A and took it as the first artist for his new label Kedar Entertainment under contract .
A + released his first album The Latch-Key Child in 1996 at the age of 13.
In 1999 the album Hempstead High followed . It also features the song Enjoy Yourself , in which A + builds a rap on A Fifth of Beethoven by Walter Murphy , which is an adaptation of Ludwig van Beethoven's 5th Symphony . With this title he reached the international charts .
