ABC Africa is a 2001 documentary by Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami .

At the invitation of the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development , Kiarostami and his assistant Seifollah Samadian came to Uganda in March 2000 to learn about the work of the non-governmental organization Uganda Women's Effort to Save Orphans . During their ten-day visit, they will digitally capture the faces of thousands of children whose parents have died of AIDS .
In 2001 the film was shown out of competition at the Cannes International Film Festival .
