ADABweb is the information system for the state preservation of monuments in Baden-Württemberg and Lower Saxony . It stands for A eneral D enkm A ldaten B ank web based. This system stores data on cultural monuments .

In ADABweb trade data is a database for historic preservation combined with cadastral maps , topographic maps , ortho aerial photographs and historical maps ( Urnummerkarten ) represented. Currently (2017) there are around 250,000 objects from the fields of archeology, building and art monument preservation as well as geological monuments.

The system was introduced in 1988 by Wolfgang M. Werner at what was then the Baden-Württemberg State Monument Authority as a client-server application and is now available as a web application . Since 2006, it has been further developed together with the contractual partner State of Lower Saxony .

Participation in this system is open to all German federal states.

As a web application, data is offered as a web map service or web feature service , to which authorized monument preservation institutions have direct access.

ADABweb is an internal information system that is not generally accessible via the Internet. In the summer of 2009, it comprised around 170,000 objects from archeology , building history and art history from Baden-Württemberg. In Lower Saxony, ADABweb has been used by the Lower Saxony State Office for Monument Preservation and the state's monument authorities since 1996 . In 2020 there were over 100,000 architectural and art monuments and 25,000 archaeological monuments.
