In June 2016 Hans Aage Jørgensen was replaced by Thomas Babacan as managing director; the Dane then moved to the supervisory board.

As early as the end of November 2018, press releases reported about the takeover of AHT Cooling Systems by Daikin Europe NV , a subsidiary of the Japanese air conditioning group Daikin Industries , for 881 million euros. After the EU competition authorities approved the takeover in mid-February 2019, there was a subsequent change in management in the company. After CEO Thomas Babacan, who had been with the company since June 2016, resigned in August 2018 and the previous CFO Frank Elsen had also taken on the role of CEO, the new management team was announced at the beginning of March 2019. Martin Krutz, most recently Managing Director of Daikin Airconditioning UK Ltd , has been appointed as the new CEO; Elsen switched to the AHT Group's supervisory board as a consultant. The Japanese Koji Takahashi, at that time still operations manager for strategic projects of the company at Daikin Europe in Belgium, subsequently took over the function of Chief Financial Officer.
