AKA in Frankfurt am Main 2015

The AKA export credit mbH is a specialist bank for export financing, based in Frankfurt am Main .

According to its total assets, the bank is one of the 100 largest German credit institutions, although it only has approx. 100 employees. The reason for this lies in the structure of the business. AKA is a consortium bank . Its shareholders (consorts) are 18 banks. AKA has core capital of € 208.3 million. The institute offers financing and services in connection with short, medium and long-term export business as well as international business.

So-called CIRR loans are an essential offer. These are fixed-rate loans subsidized from the ERP special fund with Hermes cover for German deliveries and services to selected countries. In Germany, apart from AKA, only the state KfW is allowed to offer these loans.

Shareholder

history

AKA was founded in 1952 (as AKA Export Credit Aktiengesellschaft, hence the second A in the abbreviation AKA, which was retained as an introduced short name despite the later conversion into a GmbH).

At the instigation of Hermann Josef Abs , it was founded as a private law counterpart to the public law KfW ( KfW Bankengruppe ).
