The AKH automotive GmbH was in Eutin , Schleswig-Holstein resident Umbauer and tuner of automobiles. AKH offered two-door convertibles based on Mercedes Benz sedans of the W201 series . These could optionally be ordered with a spoiler set consisting of a so-called coupe hood, front and rear aprons and side skirts. The spoiler set was also sold separately under the name Note Alpha.
history
The company was founded on July 29, 1985 as AKH-Vertriebsgesellschaft mbh . The company's purpose was initially to sell conversion kits, parts and accessories for motor vehicles. In July 1987, the company's purpose was expanded to include the construction and conversion of vehicles as well as the production of conversion kits, parts and accessories for motor vehicles, and the company was changed to AKH Fahrzeugbau GmbH.
In June 1989 the company headquarters was relocated to Wenningstedt on Sylt . There, the company was dissolved on November 10, 1989 by order of the Niebüll District Court after bankruptcy proceedings were rejected due to lack of assets.
vehicles
The AKH 190C CABRIOLET was jointly developed in 1986 by AKH Fahrzeugbau Eutin and the Hamburg company CARO and made ready for series production. The prototype was presented for the first time in February 1987. According to the price list 09/87, 38,760 DM were required for convertible production in the basic configuration. This does not yet include a base vehicle from the W201 series . In principle, this could be equipped with all optional equipment available from Mercedes-Benz . Furthermore, an electro-hydraulic roof control with manual emergency operation could be ordered for 5,700.00 DM and a padded inner headliner for 1,938.00 DM. The optional AKH coupe-style engine hood cost 1,938.00 DM and the AKH spoiler kit Note Alpha cost a further 2,871.66 DM, so that an AKH 190C cost slightly more than 90,000.00 DM and was therefore more expensive than one at the same time 300 SL of the Mercedes-Benz 107 series that can be delivered at the time .
equipment
The Note Alpha spoiler program could also be installed on series sedans of the W201 series .
Movie and TV
A red AKH convertible was used in the thriller Agent Without a Name (original title: The Bourne Identity ). The same vehicle had an "appearance" in an episode of the BBC crime series Bergerac ( Jim Bergerac determined ).
