Achim Bornhak
Achim Bornhak (born January 3, 1969 ), artist name AKIZ , is a German film and television director .
Life
Bornhak began as a projectionist and later studied directing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . Two of his short films that were made as part of his directing studies were nominated for the student Oscar.
In 1997 his feature film debut The Night of the Nights - School's out was produced for television. In 1999 the director moved to Los Angeles . Until 2004 he directed documentaries and freelance work. In 2006 he shot his first feature film Das wilde Leben , which was nominated for the German Film Prize in two categories. In 2013 he shot the feature film Der Nachtmahr as AKIZ , which won several awards at the Max Ophüls Prize in 2016. Bornhak is also known as a screenwriter , sculptor, and street artist .
Bornhak lives and works in Berlin.
