Foundation and company history
ALLNET GmbH was founded in 1991 by Wolfgang Marcus Bauer. In 1992 the company started manufacturing its own products. In 1997 the company was expanded to include its own telecommunications department. In 2001 and 2002, the company launched the first DSL access solutions. ALLNET has been offering its own products in the Powerline area since 2003. In the spring of 2004 the company founded its own training department under the name 802.lab and offers manufacturer-specific and manufacturer-independent training courses. Also in 2004, at CeBIT , the company presented its own products for the home automation sector for the first time. Since 2004 the company has also held a specialist trade conference for VoIP . In 2005 product solutions for ADSL2 + are presented for the first time . In 2006, the company was voted channel champion in the field of VAD and special distributors as part of a specialist trade study by ITK specialist dealers in Germany. In 2008, ALLNET acquired a new logistics center in Allershausen near Munich for 16,000 square meters.

Allnet vs. GPL
The legal dispute between ALLNET and the iptables / netfilter - open source project has been settled according to a joint press release. In addition, the ICT manufacturer ALLNET has made a significant donation to the Free Software Foundation Europe and the Foundation of a Free Information Infrastructure . In ALLNET software, code developed by the iptables project was used for their DSL and WLAN routers without adhering to the conditions specified in the GNU General Public License (GPL). For a number of years, ALLNET has been increasingly relying on open source software and supplies the relevant products with the associated GPL information and documents.
