description
To detect approaching missiles, the AAR-57 has four to six passive optical wide-angle sensors that can detect, track and identify the exhaust plume of guided missiles. It is an integral part of the AN / ALQ-212 - Eloka complex and remains operational even with strong maneuvers in the transonic speed range.
In September 2007 BAE Systems delivered the 1,000th system to the United States Army , which equips large parts of its helicopter fleet with the AAR-57.
