The municipality Sipe Sipe is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Sipe Sipe is one of five municipalities in the province of Quillacollo . It borders the province of Ayopaya to the northwest , the province of Tapacarí to the west, the province of Arque to the southwest , the province of Capinota to the east, the municipality of Quillacollo to the northeast , and the municipality of Vinto to the north .

The central place of the municipality is Sipe Sipe with 11,826 inhabitants in the north-eastern part of the municipality. ( 2012 census )

The municipality of Sipe Sipe is located in the transition area between the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Central and the Bolivian lowlands.
