The municipality of Quillacollo is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Quillacollo is one of five municipalities in the province of Quillacollo . It borders the province of Ayopaya in the northwest , the municipality Vinto in the west, the municipality Sipe Sipe in the southwest , the province Cercado in the southeast , the municipality Colcapirhua and the municipality Tiquipaya in the east, and the province Chapare in the north .
The central place of the municipality is Quillacollo with 117,859 inhabitants in the southern part of the municipality. ( 2012 census )

The municipality of Quillacollo is located in the transition area between the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Central and the Bolivian lowlands.
