The Municipio Colcapirhua is a district in the Department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Colcapirhua is one of five municipalities in the province of Quillacollo . It borders on the municipality of Quillacollo to the west, the province of Cercado to the south and east , and the municipality of Tiquipaya to the north .
The central and only place of the municipality is Colcapirhua with 51,896 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the western part of the district.
geography
The municipality of Colcapirhua is located on the plateau of Cochabamba in the transition area between the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Central and the Bolivian lowlands. The region's climate is a subtropical mountain climate, which is characterized more by fluctuations in precipitation than by temperature differences over the course of the year .
