The canton Mallco Rancho is a municipality in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Cantón Mallco Rancho is one of three cantons in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Sipe Sipe in the province of Quillacollo . The canton is located in the western part of Bolivia, it borders in the northwest on the Municipio Vinto , in the southwest and south on the Canton Sipe Sipe , and in the east and northeast on the Municipio Quillacollo .
The canton extends between approximately 17 ° 24 'and 17 ° 26' south latitude and 66 ° 19 'and 66 ° 23' west longitude, it measures up to six kilometers from north to south and up to eight kilometers from west to east. There are twelve municipalities in the canton, the central place is the village of Mallco Rancho in the southwestern part of the canton with 1,919 inhabitants, the mean altitude of the canton is 2560 m .

The canton Mallco Rancho is located in the transition area between the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Central and the Bolivian lowlands.
The mean average temperature of the region is around 18 ° C (see climate diagram Cochabamba) and fluctuates only slightly between 14 ° C in June / July and 20 ° C in October / November. The annual precipitation is only around 450 mm, with a pronounced dry season from May to September with monthly precipitation below 10 mm, and a humidity period from December to February with 90 to 120 mm monthly precipitation.
