In 1988 Minos Kyriakou founded the radio station ANT1 FM 97.2 in Athens . It quickly became one of the most popular stations in the broadcast area. In order to be able to present themselves in northern Greece, the ANT1 FM 97.5 offshoot was founded just a few months later with a studio in Thessaloniki . Due to these successes, one year later they dared to implement a television channel and established it with the name ANT1 TV as the second private broadcaster in Greece's television landscape.

Ant1 TV became the company's flagship and one of the most popular television channels in Greece. In 1993 the group ANT1 TV Cyprus founded in Nicosia and from then on belonged to the Cypriot television landscape. With ANT1 FM Cyprus they now also have their own radio station on the island.

A few years later it was decided to create the possibility of watching Ant1 TV far beyond the Greek-speaking area . In order to do justice to the respective market, the programs ANT1 Europe were created for the European area, ANT1 Pacific especially for the area in and around Australia and ANT1 Satellite for North America . Since these offshoots of the station were also successfully accepted by Philhellenes , the Antenna Group placed two more stations for the USA : ANTENNA Prime for Greek shows and series and the Blue station for Greek and international music.

In 2000 they dared to take the next step and founded Nova Television in Sofia , a television station that was to continue the success story in Bulgaria . The station was accepted by the local audience and was sold to the Modern Times Group in 2008 for a sum of 628 million . The deal is considered one of the most expensive takeovers in the European media industry.
