The ASG Vorwärts Demen was a German army sports community from Demen in today's Ludwigslust-Parchim district , whose football department existed until 1989. Vorwärts Demen was financially supported by the Army Sports Association Vorwärts , the ASG was subordinate to the 5th Missile Brigade of the NVA, which had been based in Demen since 1977 (before 1977 in Stallberg / Viereck (Western Pomerania) ).

Football section

Vorwärts Demen appeared for the first time in the third class district league Schwerin with the rise in 1980 . The ASG benefited from the ASG Vorwärts Hagenow from the league reform, in which the district league was increased from fourteen to sixteen teams.

In the year of advancement, Vorwärts Demen won his only title by winning the Schwerin District Cup. In the associated participation in the first main round of the FDGB Cup , Demen was able to prevail with a surprising 1-0 home win over the GDR league club Dynamo Schwerin , but then retired after a 1: 3 defeat against ISG Schwerin-Süd out. As early as the 1981/82 season, ASG, which was rather unknown in football, rose again from the district league with only twelve season points and ended its brief third division term. A return to the higher-class football succeeded Vorwärts Demen no longer.

In 1989 the team was withdrawn from gaming operations and dissolved.
