The ASG Vorwärts Perleberg was a German army sports association from Perleberg in today's Prignitz district .
Football section
Vorwärts Perleberg appeared for the first time in 1960 in the fourth-class district league Schwerin in higher-class football. The Brandenburgers took third place in the opening season, but drove to the runner-up in 1962 and rose together with the Schwerin district champion Vorwärts Schwerin in the 2nd GDR league .
Due to the dissolution of the 2nd GDR League, the considerable eleventh place was not enough to qualify for the GDR League . In the district league Vorwärts Perleberg played again in the top third, but only just missed promotion in the 1964/65 and 1965/66 seasons as runner-up. In 1973 the soccer team was relocated to Glöwen and then joined as Vorwärts Glöwen . The district league held Glöwen until 1976, but was later withdrawn from gaming operations and dissolved analogous to other army sports associations.
