The ASKÖ (Working Group for Sport and Physical Culture in Austria) Leonding is a sports club from Leonding near Linz . With his youth football department served the association already quite often jump start some talents to big clubs in Upper Austria .
history
The ATSV Leonding was founded as a gymnastics club in 1922 , but had to be dissolved in 1934 due to the political situation at the time. The re-establishment of today's club finally took place after the Second World War in September 1946. The first championship game of the ATSV Leonding was won 3-2 on August 24, 1947 against SV Alkoven . Between 1966 and 1997 was the club's most successful period. At that time they played in the 1st and 2nd regional league of Upper Austria and in 1993 the Traunviertel Cup was the biggest success. In the following years one could not build on earlier successes and descended several times until one finally found oneself in the 2nd class middle. With the 2011 championship title, however, they were able to rise again and have been in the middle of the 1st class since then.
In 1976 the name of the association was changed to ASKÖ Leonding .

Fans & rivalries
The fans of the Leondingen are deeply rooted in their club and, despite the decades of mixed performance, always stand behind the team. The most important fan club of the Leondingen are the Gfrasta 4060 (G46), which ended their support until further notice after there were differences with the club. However, some members of the scene can still be found at home and away games. “You can't stop Leonding” is probably the best-known chant of this group, which still resounds through the Gaumberg Stadium today.
Rivalries exist with the two other local football clubs Union Leonding and ASKÖ Doppl Hart 74 , as well as some other small clubs in the Leonding area . The game against Union Leonding is regarded as the prestigious city derby and is known for explosive duels on the field and in the stands. The derby against ASKÖ Doppl Hart 74 is less explosive, as the matches have become increasingly rare due to the different league affiliations in recent years.
Venues
Game operations and training were carried out on the so-called Scheiblwiese in Gaumberg on Paschinger Straße right from the start. In 1986 the sports facility was redesigned and the new sports center built. The home games have since been played in the Gaumberg Stadium.
