The Association Sportive Aixoise is a French football club from Aix-en-Provence , a town in the Bouches-du-Rhône department , north of Marseille .

The ASA was created in 1941 as a result of a merger of two clubs (FC and US Aix) as AS d'Aix . The club carried this name until 1992, when it was dissolved after bankruptcy and re-established under its current name. The club colors are blue and white; the league team used to play at the Stade du Tholonet and now at the Stade Georges Carcassonne , which has a capacity of 2,000.

League affiliation

Aix had professional status from 1953 to 1972. First class ( Division 1 , renamed Ligue 1 since 2002 ) the club only played in the 1967/68 season, from 1953–1967 and 1968–1972 also in Division 2 ; in the 2013/14 season he competes in the sixth class Division d'Honneur .
