The AS Pirae is the most successful Tahitian football club from Pirae and plays in the top division, the Tahiti Division Fédérale . The club were the only French Polynesian team to ever reach the OFC Champions League final until 2012 , a success that was discontinued in 2012 by AS Tefana Faa'a. The club celebrated the final in 2006 , where they lost 3-1 against New Zealand club Auckland City FC .
AS Pirae was seven times Tahitian champions and six times cup winners of their own country.
