A Million on My Soul is a song by Alexiane , Mathieu Carratier and Igor Kempeneers , which Alexiane sang for the film Valerian - The City of a Thousand Planets by Luc Besson and was released in May 2017.

background

The song is about the transition from childhood to adulthood, the importance of knowing yourself and the changes that new understanding brings with it. Alexiane wrote the lyrics for the song together with her best friend Igor Kempeneers, with whom she had written lyrics together before; she wrote the melody of the song with the music producer Mathieu Carratier.

A Million on My Soul was released as a single in May 2017. A music video was released a short time later. The song was written especially for the film Valerian - The City of a Thousand Planets by Luc Besson, who is Alexiane's uncle. It is played in it during the credits . The second trailer for the film was also accompanied by the song. It is also included on the film's soundtrack album .

The song was recorded from mid-February 2017, among others with the support of the Norwegian producer duo Stargate, that is Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Storleer Eriksen; The French Sandy Vee was also involved as a producer . Most of the instruments played Mathieu Carratier, who acted as musical director.

It was mostly students from Besson's film school Ecole de la Cité who produced the music video with producer Camille Cornuel and who directed it. The recording of the music video began at the end of May 2017.

The song is a futuristic feast for the ears, headlined the Internet platform Bustle over a contribution by Angelica Florio, who said that the electronic piece with its heavy beat and future-oriented sounds is pretty perfect for the film.

Chart success

The song entered the French iTunes charts at number 70 on May 26, 2017 and reached number 68 in the top 100 singles there. It reached number 186 in the German iTunes charts and was also featured in the iTunes soundtrack. Place charts of Switzerland.
