chronology
Bloody Tales of Disgraced Lands (2005) A pagan storm Determined Damnation (2009)

A Pagan Storm ( English for "Ein Heidensturm") is the second studio album by the Lower Bavarian pagan metal band Wolfchant . It was released on April 6, 2007 on the CCP Records label . It was recorded in January of the same year.

The album is very different from their first album, Bloody Tales of Disgraced Lands , in some respects . Flutes and accordion have replaced keyboards. Another change was that choirs complement the arrangement. The lyrics are mainly from Mario Möginger, the compositions from Mario and Daniel Liebl. A new artist, Kris Verwimp, was commissioned to design the cover for A Pagan Storm because the previous designer was too unreliable.

Cover design

The cover shows a snowy landscape with a wolf in the foreground . In the background is a forest, behind which mountains can be seen. In front of the forest are two Vikings crossing their swords. The band logo at the top left and the album title A Pagan Storm in black letters at the bottom .

review

The music magazine Laut.de describes the album as puristic, but doesn’t skimp on criticism. The sound was too thin. According to Laut.de, this is due to the complete abandonment of keyboards, which have been replaced by jew's harp, flute and accordion.
