A Shipwreck in the Sand is the fourth studio album by the Canadian post-hardcore band Silverstein . It is the band's first concept album and was released worldwide on March 31, 2009. The story belonging to the album, as well as the track list and cover of the album were published on January 29, 2009 on a website specially created for the album . On March 17, 2009, the band released a single from the song "Vices", for which they also recorded a video.

Emergence

After her European tour in May / June 2008, Silverstein began to write the new album. The first notes of the album were recorded between numerous festival appearances in summer. Shortly after their tour of North America in the fall of that year, they began recording their album. The recording of the album was finished at the end of the year and the name and the track list were announced on a specially set up homepage. The first demo of the new album ("Broken Stars") was published on MySpace and on the Silverstein homepage on October 3rd. On February 23, 2009, Silverstein announced the release date and also announced tours in Europe and North America.
