The Aachener Bausparkasse AG was a private building society based in Aachen .
history
The Aachener Bausparkasse was founded in 1926 as the Reichsparverband für Eigenheime eV . Already two years later the name was changed to Zwecksparverband für Eigenheime eV. In 1932 the legal form was changed from a registered association to a stock corporation and consequently the name was changed to Zwecksparverband für Eigenheime Aktiengesellschaft . Since 1935 the name has been Aachener Bausparkasse AG . In October 2012, the merger with HUK-Coburg-Bausparkasse AG took place. Since then, the HUK-Coburg insurance group has been the largest single shareholder in Aachener Bausparkasse AG. The sale to Wüstenrot Bausparkasse was announced in December 2018. In June 2020 the company was merged with the Wüstenrot Bausparkasse.
