Aaron Pilsan (* 1995 in Dornbirn , Austria ) is an Austrian pianist .

Career

Pilsan began to learn the piano at the age of five. As a teenager he studied with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and then became a student of Lars Vogt . As a teenager, acceptance into the Rising Star program of the European Concert Hall Organization enabled him to perform in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam , the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, and the Konzerthaus Vienna . In 2014 the Naïve Records label released its debut album with works by Beethoven and Schubertwhich was praised in the trade press. In 2015, Aaron Pilsan was accepted into the funding program of the Swiss Orpheum Foundation, which enabled him to perform with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich under the direction of Sir Neville Marriner . In August 2017 he was awarded the Deutschlandfunk advancement award. Pilsan performed at the Menuhin Festival Gstaad , the Kissinger Sommer , the Schubertiade Hohenems , the Ruhr Piano Festival and the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival .

At the beginning of 2018, Deutsche Grammophon released the album Home , a musical homage to Aaron Pilsan's hometown in Vorarlberg , together with long-time duo partner, cellist and friend Kian Soltani . The album contains works by Schubert, Schumann and the Persian composer Reza Vali.
