Aaronsburg is a city with 613 inhabitants (2010 census) in Center County in the US state of Pennsylvania .
history
Aaronsburg was founded by Aaron Levy in 1786. It was planned as a larger city with neatly aligned streets and should become a county seat. But water shortage prevented growth and so Bellefonte was appointed county seat .
In 1949 a Jewish trader with the same name as the founder of the place organized a historical pageant, which was attended by more than 40,000 people. A film was made and a book was written for this event.
Infrastructure
Aaronsburg owns two churches (Salem Lutheran and Reformed), three cemeteries, a library, a historical museum and a pottery.
