Abahani Ltd. Dhaka is a sports club from Dhaka , Bangladesh . The club currently plays in the highest league in the country, the B. League . The footballers play their home games in the national stadium of Bangladesh . In addition to the football department, the club also has a cricket and hockey department, both of which are very successful. The club was founded in 1972 as Abahani Krira Chakra (German: Abahani Sports Club ). With 14 championship titles and six cup wins, the soccer team is one of the most successful clubs in the country. Since 1989 the association has been converted into a company, with the current name Abahani Ltd. Dhaka. Abahani was the first winner of the newly formed professional soccer league B. League in 2007.
