The Abbasid Stadium ( Arabic ملعب العباسيين, DMG malʿab al-ʿAbbāsiyyīn ) is a stadium in Damascus .

The four Syrian first division football clubs al-Madschd , al-Jaish , al-Wahda and al-Shorta play their home games in this stadium. The stadium is next to the Aleppo International Stadium, the national stadium of the Syrian national team . The stadium was opened in 1976. The stadium holds 45,000 spectators, making it the second largest in Syria after the Aleppo International Stadium in Aleppo . In 2002 the West Asian Football Championship took place in the stadium .

The stadium is named after the Abbasids who ruled the Middle East and North Africa from the 8th to the 13th centuries .
