Abbott Records / Discography
The Abbott Records label's discography includes all records released during the label's existence from 1951 to 1957. Numerous well-known country musicians and singers were discovered by the owner of the company, Fabor Robinson, and had their first record deal with Abbott, before they later made careers with major labels . B. Johnny Horton , Jim Reeves , Mitchell Torok , Floyd Cramer .
introduction
The company was based on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood , California. From 1953 the singles had a dark red label with the silver inscription “Abbott Records. A Fabor Robinson Production ".
Abbott Records released two singles series, the 100 series, which released country music, and the 3000 series, which was reserved for pop music titles. The 5000 series was intended for long-playing records, but Abbott Records only released three albums.
After Fabor Robinson had bought up all the shares in Abbott Records in 1953, he founded Fabor Records as a sister label, on which u. a. Records by The Browns , Ned Miller and Bonny Guitar released. From 1955, after Jim Reeves and Floyd Cramer left RCA Records , Robinson's interest focused more on the Fabor label.
The discography contains the following information: Abbott catalog number, year of publication, artist, title (partly in brackets composer and lyricist), position of the title in the charts. The catalog numbers did not include those under which no single was published, this was especially the case in 1953.
