Abbreviationes

Abbreviationes is an electronic database of medieval Latin abbreviations . The project was programmed by Olaf Pluta at the Ruhr University in Bochum and was awarded the German-Austrian University Software Prize in 1993. Originally developed for Apple Macintosh computers, the database can be used over the Internet for a fee. Abbreviationes is, along with Cappellis Lexicon Abbreviaturarum, an important tool in palaeography and is used by numerous research institutes and universities.
